This site is dedicated to the sharing of the beauty of the bird world with all of you out there. Birding and bird photography are my hobbies, some might say my passion and the less charitable my obsession. Whatever the truth of the matter, I hope that you get as much enjoyment from the displayed images of the birds (and occasional other fauna and flora) from the localities that I have visited, as I have from being there and taking the photos. I live and work in South Africa, so the majority of the images on this site are from various southern African localities.
It is neither intended that the images are book illustration quality, nor that they be superb photographs. They merely represent my photographic record of birding localities that I have visited. They will be added to or replaced as I re-visit a site and get better photos. Please visit the site regularly so that you can see the latest images.
For those that are interested, most of the images have been captured using a hand-held Canon EOS 20D with an EF 100–400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM lens.
